The facility of electronic travel authorization for Sri Lanka was introduced by the government of Sri Lanka in the year 2012 to improve border security and proper facilitation of the immigration process.

Armenia citizens can apply for tourism, business, or transit Sri Lankan ETA. Applying for an Electronic Travel Authorization for Sri Lanka, online is very easy simple, and fast. It saves you a lot of time and there is no need to visit the embassy.

The processing time takes almost 1 to 2 business days for the approved Sri Lankan ETA. Armenia citizens also get a Priority Service that allows getting the ETA of Sri Lanka within 1 hour.

Getting an electronic travel authorization for Sri Lanka negates the need to visit the consulate or embassy and waste the time waiting in the queue. Online ETA provides electronic approval to the traveler to enter the country of Sri Lanka.

 

The Sri Lankan government provides three types of ETAs of Sri Lanka to the Armenian people. And they are:

• Tourist Sri Lanka ETA – this is for spending some quality time in Sri Lanka. Valid for 6 months with double entry. Armenia travelers can stay for 30 days in the country using ETA for Sri Lanka.
• Business Sri Lanka ETA - this is for business-related work. Valid for 6 months from the date of issue. Using a Sri Lanka online visa Armenia citizens can stay for 30 days in the country. It grants multiple entries in Sri Lanka.
• Transit ETA– this is applied when you have a connecting route visa to Sri Lanka. If you have a layover for more than 8 hours you can apply for this. It is valid for 2 days.

 

Before applying for an ETA FOR SRI LANKA by the Armenia people, all requirements must be well known. This makes things easy for the visitor to apply and hassle-free too. Check the list below:

 A valid passport issued by the Armenian government. It must have 6 months of validity from the date of entering the country of Sri Lanka.
 Scanned image of the first page of the passport of the Armenian holder, where all the details are present.
 A valid international debit or credit card to make the payment of the Sri Lanka ETA fee. The fee is not refundable if in case the ETA gets denied or rejected due to any reason.
 A valid and active email address of the applicant. The approved SRILANKA eta will be sent to the Email ID, registered in the application form for the ETA for Sri Lanka. After that, you can take a printout of that electronically approved eta.

 

Any Armenian traveler who wishes to travel to SRI LANKA can apply online. They have to fill in an application form for the ETA for Sri Lanka. The form asks about the basic details of the applicant like name, nationality, DOB, gender, contact info, email ID purpose of your travel, passport details, etc.

After filling in all these details, Armenian travelers must re-check the application form, there should be no errors or mistakes. If any mistake is found, the visa approval may get delayed or the application can get rejected. After this, Armenian citizens are required to make the payment using a debit or credit card for the Sri Lanka ETA.

If any minor (under 16) is traveling along with their parents then their application can be filled in on behalf of their parent’s application. But every individual must have their passport and visa with them. But those who are 16 and above must apply separately for their visa.

ETAs are valid for vacations, sightseeing, family functions, travel, and business only. If any citizen of Armenia wants to visit Sri Lanka for any other purpose like religious functions or humanitarian purposes should apply for a visa at the local embassy or consulate.

Once the ETA for Sri Lanka gets approved, it is sent directly to the registered EMAIL ID of the applicant. You can take the printout of the ETA and carry it along with you during your travel to the country.

At the Sri Lankan borders, a physical copy might be asked of the electronic visa and match the records with the digital one.

You might also be asked for proof of funds with you to take care of your selves and also proof of onward journey from Sri Lanka or a return ticket.

 

Armenian travelers having ETA for Sri Lanka will be issued visas on arrival automatically.

You must have your passport with you, sufficient funds proof, a return or onward ticket, and a copy of ETA if asked. After all the verification the officer will grant you the visa on arrival using which you can enter Sri Lanka.

It is possible to apply for a visa on arrival without an ETA at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo only. This is not recommended as it means waiting in a different queue to fill out the paperwork and then joining the main queue to clear immigration.

But certainly, this process takes a lot of time, as travelers have to stand in queues and wait for long hours. It is better to apply online to save you from all the mess and tiring process.
